Docetism

Docetism is a very common heresy, but most people are not aware of there being a name for it. Docetism is the belief that Jesus was a spirit-being, rather than a human. This is a heretical belief, as one of the most important parts of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ came to earth, as a man, experienced life on earth, and was crucified, despite having done nothing worthy of the pain inflicted upon Him. One of the things that has always made me love Christianity is how our Savior knows exactly what we feel like when we are going through life. In fact, even if I did not believe in Christ, I have a feeling that I would really respect Christianity over other religions, just because Jesus Christ came to earth to show us how much He loves us, and to give us the free gift of eternal salvation. I digress.

By denying that Jesus came to earth in human form, one would be denying one of the most important aspects of Jesus.
